Saddle Up: The Sierra foothill community of Lone Pine, which for 72 years has been a favorite movie location, will stage its third annual Lone Pine Film Festival Oct. 9-11. Bronze plaques will be dedicated and streets named after performers who have worked there. Honored guests expected to attend include Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Clayton Moore (TV’s “Lone Ranger”), Richard Farnsworth, John Agar, Rand Brooks, Ann Rutherford and the family of the late cowboy star Tim Holt. The schedule calls for tours of film sites and showings of 15 movies made in Lone Pine.
