A masked pair of bank robbers ordered customers at gunpoint to lie on the floor, then grabbed cash from tellers and raced out the door Tuesday, authorities said.
A passerby saw the robbers in the Wells Fargo Bank at 141 W. Bastanchury Road about 2:35 p.m. and called police, Police Lt. Mike Stedman said.
The robbers, wearing ski masks, ordered bank customers and employees to the floor, police said. While one man stood guard with a gun, the other grabbed money from tellers, police said.
The pair did not fire their guns, and no one was injured.
The robbers fled in a white Mazda RX-7 along Bastanchury, Stedman said. Soon afterward, police found the car abandoned on the same road. Officers searched the area unsuccessfully.
