Regulators to Hold Credit Crunch Hearings: Four of the nation’s top bank regulators will host the first of an unprecedented series of hearings on the credit crunch Tuesday in Los Angeles. The Treasury Department hearing comes amid numerous complaints that credit for business remains too tight, despite Federal Reserve efforts to stimulate the economy by pushing down interest rates. Topics to be covered include the restructuring of commercial real estate loans, financing for housing and small business financing. The hearing is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon in Concourse Ballroom A of the Stouffer Concourse Hotel, 5400 W. Century Blvd., near Los Angeles International Airport. For information, call the Office of Thrift Supervision at (202) 906-6677.
