Justin Bower, a senior at Foothill High School in Santa Ana, finished third nationally in the Knights of Pythias annual highway safety poster contest.
Bower’s prizes from the local, state and national competitions totaled $1,000 in U.S. Savings Bonds.
The 1992-93 contest, themed “Highway Safety Driving, Abuses & Misuses,” is open to all students in grades nine through 12. The Knights of Pythias, a fraternal organization founded in 1864 in Washington, hopes the contest will increase awareness about drug and alcohol abuse.
For information on this year’s rules, call contest chairman John Bradley at (714) 531-6340.
