LEMONADE BRIGADE: Some 50 UC Irvine alumni, staff and faculty will board shuttle buses by 8 a.m. today to attend former UCI Chancellor Jack Peltason’s inauguration as president of the University of California, held at UCLA. UCI student president Rigoberto Rodriguez will speak at the event. . . . But in light of UC system budget constraints, Peltason has insisted on an austere reception afterward: “He asked that the most that would be done would be lemonade and cookies,” says a UCI spokeswoman.
