A four-day student sit-in at Alabama State University ended with the football team agreeing to play today’s game against Prairie View. The team had joined more than 1,000 of Alabama State’s 5,500 students in the demonstration protesting high costs and conditions in dormitories and cafeterias.
The end came when interim president C.C. Baker agreed to roll back the student parking fee from $120 a year to $70 and to meet with student leaders next week.
