Loyola Marymount will play the Melbourne Tigers of Australia in an exhibition at 7:30 tonight at Gersten Pavilion.
Loyola was beaten by the AAU Lafayette Hustlers, 98-93, in overtime last week in its first exhibition game. Junior forward Zan Mason, a 6-foot-7 transfer from UCLA, led the Lions with 18 points and seven rebounds.
The Melbourne Tigers feature forward Andrew Gaze, who played for the 1989 Seton Hall team that was NCAA runner-up.
Tonight’s game will be Loyola’s final tuneup before it opens the season Tuesday at Gersten Pavilion against College of Notre Dame, an NCAA Division II school from the Bay Area.
