In a Division II match:
Torrey Pines 3, Bishop Montgomery 2--No. 2 Torrey Pines advanced to the state semifinals with a thrilling 15-9, 16-14, 3-15, 10-15, 15-13 victory over No. 3 Bishop Montgomery (15-4). The Falcons, San Diego Section Division II champions for the third year in a row, improved to 26-6.
Division III
South Torrance 3, La Jolla 0--No. 3 La Jolla, the San Diego Section champion, lost to No. 2 South Torrance (16-5), 15-6, 15-7, 15-8, in Torrance. The Vikings finished 30-7.
