Body of Woman, 79, Found in Office Building

LOS ANGELES — The body of a 79-year-old woman who was raped and strangled was found in a vacant office building on Wilshire Boulevard in the Hancock Park area Tuesday about a block from her apartment, Los Angeles police said.
Vera MacDonald often took short walks “to shop or mail things, “ Detective Dan Andrews said. Her body was found inside the front door of the building in the 4300 block of Wilshire.
Andrews said she was apparently accosted on the street and attacked inside the building.
