Lockheed Expects Losses at Aircraft Maintenance Unit: Hitting a brick wall in one diversification from military work, Lockheed is projecting multimillion-dollar losses in starting up its commercial aircraft maintenance and modification business in San Bernardino. The venture has been hurt by airlines delaying maintenance amid a slump in air travel, a spokesman said. Meanwhile, the company is considering moving its military aircraft service center and 2,200 employees out of Ontario Airport, amid a battle with the Los Angeles Department of Airports over an 87% increase in Lockheed’s lease payments.
