Endangered Species Act

Regarding endangered species: If we are really interested in protecting our heritage with the promise of a viable world for future generations, let’s seek legislation that promotes, enhances and manages habitat for rare and endangered species. The present law creates an adversarial policy that is not working.
From the gnatcatcher to the spotted owl, the stakes are too high to allow the existing practice to continue.
Legislation directed toward management and enhancement would create an entirely different concept in preservation, while providing the tools to protect existing species and ecosystems. Are you listening, President Clinton, Vice President Gore?
