THE RIGHT STUFF: When Tom Daly upset incumbent Anaheim Mayor Fred Hunter in November’s election, he gave much of the credit to his political consultant, Lynn Wessell. It was Wessell’s last great success. . . . The 54-year-old consultant, who died Christmas Day after a brief illness, had also led the 1988 fight in Orange County against the slow-growth initiative. Daly, who attended his funeral in Whittier on Wednesday, says of him: “Lynn was quite the swashbuckler, right out of central casting--what you’d expect a campaign manager to be: decisive, very dynamic.”
