Tomas Fogdoe of Sweden earned his third World Cup slalom victory of the season at Lech, Austria, fighting off a strong challenge by Jure Kosir of Slovenia with a combined time of 1 minute 44.36 seconds, 0.07 ahead of Kosir.
Marc Girardelli finished 12th and won the combination, a paper race that combined the results of the slalom with the results of Saturday’s downhill at nearby St. Anton. He was sixth there.
With 100 points for the combination victory, Girardelli has 875 points for a 343-point lead over Alberto Tomba, who was third in the slalom. Fogdoe overtook Tomba for the lead in that event’s standings.
