Jobless Claims Up Slightly: The number of Americans filing initial claims for jobless benefits rose slightly in mid-February, the first advance in a month, the government said. The Labor Department said new applications for unemployment insurance totaled 325,000 during the week ended Feb. 13, up from 321,000 a week earlier. It was the first increase since claims rose 1,000, to 361,000, during the week ended Jan. 16.
