BETHESDA, Md. — Rep. Alcee L. Hastings remained hospitalized Monday for more tests because of a possible heart ailment, a spokesman said.
Hastings, 56, was sent to Bethesda Naval Hospital on Friday after a checkup, the spokesman said. Hastings was a federal judge until he was convicted by the Senate in 1989 on charges of perjury and conspiring to obtain a payoff. He was elected to the House from Florida’s 23rd congressional district last November.
