Formulating an Idea: A bright idea by a 26-year-old marketing consultant a few years back has resulted in one of Orange County’s newest companies: Applied Microdontics Inc. in Dana Point.
After reading a report on bacteria buildups on toothbrushes, Marcia Glynn has begun production of an anti-bacterial spray that she hopes will sell 1 million units in the company’s first year.
The formula is packaged in a plastic spray bottle. Users can give their toothbrushes a simple squirt and then start brushing. The product, called NewBrush, is now on sale at pharmacies and supermarkets and costs between $4.99 and $5.99.
