Two homeless people were killed and three others injured in Willowbrook early Monday in a pair of drive-by shootings, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.
An unknown number of men in two cars shot the victims near a liquor store at 124th Street and Wilmington Avenue and in front of 1686 E. 124th St. shortly after midnight, said Lt. Dennis Wilson of the Lynwood Division.
A man and woman were dead on arrival at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital/Drew Medical Center. A second woman was listed in stable condition. The other two victims, a woman and a man, were listed in stable condition at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, officials said. None of the victims were carrying identification.
Sheriff’s deputies said they did not know the motive for the shootings.
