Don’t Tell the Owners or They Will Do It

Bravo to Leonard Koppett (July 9) for taking baseball’s new television plan to task. Give baseball owners enough TV cable and they will hang themselves. Adding gimmick playoff rounds with also-ran teams not only cheapens the Fall(en) Classic, it trivializes the regular season.
What’s TV’s next assault? Hey, why not move the Hall of Fame to Farmers Market so it can be across the street from Television City?
