Standard Brands Names New Chairman: Standard Brands Paint Co. announced that Fletcher L. Byrom will succeed Martin S. Ackerman as new chairman, chief executive and president of the Torrance-based company. Ackerman died last week. Byrom, the former chairman of Koppers Co. Inc., is currently chairman of the board and chief executive of Adience Inc., a refractories company headquartered in Pittsburgh.
