County Awards 2 Drain Contracts

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has awarded two contracts to clean area street drains.
Arsaka Research Co. Inc. has been awarded a $69,230 county contract to clean 10,900 street drains in Long Beach and adjacent unincorporated areas. Three firms submitted bids and the highest was $152,251. The project will be administered by the county’s Department of Public Works.
Colorado Wood Work of Madera has been given a $55,992 contract to clean 6,400 drains and catch basins in Whittier, Long Beach, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Hacienda Heights and adjoining unincorporated areas. Three firms submitted bids, and the highest was $86,168.
Workers will clear debris before the winter storm season, eliminate rodent nests and clear out decaying organic matter that causes odors and dangerous gases.
