An 80-year-old Oxnard woman riding in a car driven by her husband died Friday after they were broadsided while making a left turn from Oxnard Boulevard, police said.
Gertrude Burr died shortly after being taken to Ventura County Medical Center following the 3:10 p.m. accident, police said. Her husband, Arthur Burr, 82, was admitted to the hospital, where he was listed in serious condition Friday night, a nursing supervisor said.
Burr was driving northbound on Oxnard Boulevard when he made a left turn on Orchard Place in front of a car driven by Armando Saucedo of Oxnard. Saucedo could not stop in time and hit the passenger side of Burr’s car, police said.
Saucedo was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, police said. The investigation is continuing.
