Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Remains of Alligator Victim Are Sought

Trappers and police in central Florida searched for alligators believed to have mauled to death and eaten parts of a 70-year-old woman as she relaxed with a book next to a rural lake. Grace Eberhart died Sunday after a pack of alligators attacked her, possibly in search of table scraps or food, according to Sumter County sheriff’s Deputy Bill Farmer. The medical examiner said the elderly woman died when one of the alligators bit her head and snapped her neck.
