LOS ANGELES : Motorist Shot From Car on Santa Monica Freeway

A security guard driving home on the Santa Monica Freeway on Friday morning was shot three times by an assailant in a vehicle in the next lane.
The unidentified guard was hit three times--in the left eye, armpit and upper chest--and was in critical condition at County-USC Medical Center.
The attack occurred about 2:25 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the freeway southeast of Downtown Los Angeles. The victim, who was wearing his security guard uniform, told police he did not see who fired at him, Sgt. Paul McConnell said.
