COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titans Score Early, Hold On to Upset UCLA

Cal State Fullerton scored twice early in the first half and held on to upset third-ranked UCLA, 2-1, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Pacific Division men’s soccer game Sunday at Titan Stadium.
Alfred Partida scored three minutes into the game, and Matt Bradbury increased the Titans’ lead to 2-0 at the 23-minute mark.
Robbie LaBelle scored UCLA’s only goal with two minutes remaining.
UCLA (14-2, 6-1 in divisional play), which had allowed only seven goals this season, had already clinched the division title. Fullerton is 12-5, 5-2.
In another Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game:
UC Irvine 4, San Diego State 3 (OT)--Scott Goldman and P.J. Polowski scored goals in overtime and then the host Anteaters (6-12) held on to beat the Aztecs (5-9-1).
In Mountain Pacific Sports Federation water polo:
UC Irvine 8, Pacific 6--UC Irvine, ranked fifth in the nation, rallied to defeat No. 3 Pacific at Heritage Park in Irvine.
The Anteaters (12-7) scored three consecutive fourth-quarter goals to avenge a 9-4 loss to the Tigers in the season opener in Stockton. Pacific (13-4) took a 6-5 lead with 2:17 left in the third quarter on a penalty shot by Todd Hosmer, but didn’t score another goal. David Brunner, Greg Hakim and Kurt Edler each scored in the fourth quarter for UCI.
