Pinkerton Buys Security Firm Based in Virginia

Van Nuys-based Pinkerton Investigation Services has purchased INTERTEL, a Virginia company that specializes in corporate security and international investigations. There was no purchase price reported.
Pinkerton officials said the acquisition of INTERTEL will expand their ability to do international investigations. INTERTEL was established in 1970 and has a staff that is fluent in several foreign languages, including French, German, Greek and Croatian.
Pinkerton has more than 200 offices and 45,000 field personnel throughout the world and has many Fortune 500 companies among its clients. In addition to security services, the company also does pre-employment background investigations of prospective employees.
