Busking in Glory

Ted Hawkins’ new record deal at Geffen Records comes as small surprise given the dues he’s paid. The priceless information given in Patrick Goldstein’s article (“Sidewalk Soul Pays Off,” Nov. 21) is the street performer’s current whereabouts.

I’ve missed him since our last chat on the Venice Boardwalk, where he agreed to play at my wedding. The nuptials never happened, but now I know that from the broken heart of Venice, I can trudge to the 3rd Street Promenade to cry the good tears conjured by Hawkins’ sweet soul singing.
