Dr. Jack Kevorkian was hospitalized after complaining of chest pains on the 13th day of his jailhouse hunger strike in Pontiac. A doctor said tests indicated the retired pathologist probably had not suffered a heart attack. Kevorkian was admitted for overnight monitoring as a precaution, an official of the North Oakland Medical Center said. The 65-year-old advocate of assisted suicides was scheduled for two court cases today. Kevorkian was jailed Nov. 30 on a charge of assisting the Oct. 22 suicide of Merian Frederick, 72, who had Lou Gehrig’s disease.
