President of Fiji Dies in U.S. Hospital

WASHINGTON — Fijian President Ratu Penaia Ganilau died Wednesday night while undergoing treatment in the United States for a blood disorder, a Fijian spokesman said Thursday.
Ganilau, 75, died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, said Peter Halder, an aide who traveled with the president to the United States. He said he did not immediately know the official cause of death, and the hospital refused to comment.
