No More Eo at Epcot: Capt. Eo’s days of saving the world with song and dance are numbered at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center. Walt Disney Co. is dropping Michael Jackson’s 3-D spectacular at the Florida park. Officials said the decision had nothing to do with allegations that the performer sexually molested a teen-age boy. “We have to keep offering something new,” said David Herbst, a Disney spokesman. The attraction is sponsored by Eastman Kodak Co. The show will continue to play at Disneyland and at the Disney park in Tokyo. Capt. Eo will be replaced this fall at Epcot by “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.” Separately, Walt Disney World plans to lay off 360 of 36,000 employees at its Florida entertainment resort in the near future, a company spokeswoman said. The 1% cut in the work force is part of a larger restructuring intended to boost financial growth.
