Don’t be surprised if Deane Beman’s resignation fails to bring tears to golfers, galleries, sponsors and 19th holers everywhere. Whatever achievements credited to Beman as PGA Tour commissioner should be outweighed by his despotic approach and often idiotic rulings.
Thank you, Deane, for your 20-plus years of faithful service. Now please step aside and allow the game to play through.
