ARTESIA : Barcome Drops Out, Supports Challengers

Candidate Gary L. Barcome has dropped out of the race for Artesia City Council and has thrown his support behind two other challengers seeking to unseat incumbents Mary Alyce Soares and Mayor James A. Van Horn Jr.
Barcome, 48, said he feared that three challengers would dilute the vote in the April 12 election. He and challengers Timothy Kelemen and John Lyon have been running on a slate against Soares and Van Horn.
