Stihl Inc. Recalls Blowers, Sprayers: The company said it is recalling 34,600 backpack blowers and sprayers for gardening because of a potential fuel line leak that could cause a fire. There have been no reported injuries resulting from any such leak, said Jerry Blaine, spokesman for Virginia Beach, Va.-based Stihl. The blowers and sprayers affected by the recall--models BR320, BR400, SR320 and SR400--were manufactured after Oct. 21, 1991, and have been sold since November, 1991. They have serial numbers greater than 224438666. Owners of the machines should bring them to an authorized dealer for free replacement of the fuel line and modification of the fuel tank, Stihl said.
