Elementary students in Oxnard’s La Colonia neighborhood will soon be taught an anti-drug message by a police officer assigned to a storefront station.
It will be the first time that Oxnard police have taught the Drug Abuse Resistance Education curriculum, which is widely used throughout schools in Ventura County and the state. The 12-week program will be taught by Officer Alex Rangel at Cesar Chavez School starting Wednesday.
