Toshiba for Power Users: Toshiba America’s computer division in Irvine raised the bar for multimedia portable computers Monday with its introduction of several new products, the company said.
The subsidiary of Tokyo-based Toshiba Corp. launched its Satellite T2400C notebook PC for computer-philes known as power users. Prices range from $3,099 to $4,299, depending on options. The computers weigh between 6.5 and 7 pounds.
The computer has multimedia capabilities--those that combine sound, graphics, text and video--and it features an AccuPoint pointing device, which is a touch-sensitive stem that can control a cursor on the computer screen, instead of a track ball or computer mouse.
