Does the U.S. victory over Colombia compare to the U.S.’s hockey victory over the Soviet Union at the 1980 Winter Olympics?
Not according to ABC’s Al Michaels, who punctuated that 1980 game with: “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!”
“Because of the year, because of the Cold War and everything else surrounding that game, there’s never been anything to compare it, and there never will be,” Michaels said.
Will his call ever fit another event?
“I’ve retired it,” he said.
