SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Major Road Work to Be Done at Night

The city has changed the hours that maintenance work will be allowed on sections of two downtown main roadways, Camino Capistrano and Del Obispo Street.
Most of the work, part of the city’s preventive maintenance program, will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. weeknights, beginning today. Crews will do minor work during the day.
Heavy work had been slated to be done during the day, but officials later realized that lane closures would play havoc on motorists and businesses.
The $179,000 project is expected to be completed Nov. 11.
