Trust Company of the West has named Mel Schmidt senior vice president of Equity Research and Trading Support, and Shannon M. Callan as senior vice president of Latin America Equities. Schmidt joins Los Angeles-based TCW after 10 years as a special situations analyst at Oppenheimer & Co. and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Callan joins TCW from Moore Capital, an offshore hedge fund, where she managed Latin American investments.
