Despite public perceptions that crime is on the increase, at least one of the most dreaded forms of street crime is actually on the decline.
Gas station and convenience store robberies in Orange County have decreased in recent years, according to the Department of Justice, Bureau of Criminal Statistics. Here’s the trend:

This is the deadline to register for a Christmas dinner to be served Dec. 23 at the Norman P. Murray Senior Center in Mission Viejo.
The traditional holiday dinner will include turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. The dining area will be decorated for the holidays. Music and entertainment will also be provided.
