San Juan Capistrano : Developer Seeks City Approval for Condos
- Share via
A developer will ask the city early next month to approve construction of 264 detached condominiums off La Novia Avenue.
The condominiums would complement 22 attatched townhouses under construction now as part of a now-scuttled project on 79 1/2 acres.
A previous developer had permission from the city to build 286 townhouses but didn’t complete the project, according to C.J. Amstrup, an associate planner for the city.
New city approval for the proposed 264 detatched condominiums is necessary because zoning changes are needed to accommodate the project, Amstrup said.
Amstrup said the city was unsure why the previous developer didn’t finish the project. The new developer could not be reached Thursday. The developer is scheduled to present the project to the city Planning Commission on Jan. 10 and to the City Council on Feb. 7.
