April Blaker
SCHOOL: Agoura
SPORT: Soccer
YEAR: Sophomore
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Blaker, a two-year starter at midfielder, leads Agoura with 11 goals and four assists. Her playmaking and ball-control skills have helped the Chargers (10-1, 4-0 in league play) seize first place in the Marmonte League. “In contrast to last year, April’s not just passing off but also going to the net herself,” Agoura Coach Dave Godwin said. “She has excellent eye-foot coordination and she’s highly skilled for a sophomore.”
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Blaker scored three of Agoura’s five goals in two league victories. She had one goal in a 3-1 victory over Camarillo and both goals in a 2-0 victory over Simi Valley, the defending league co-champion.
