Trustees Favor Change in Dress Code Policy
- Share via
Trustees of the Fullerton School District have given preliminary approval to a revision in a policy that would allow schools to impose mandatory dress codes.
A final decision is expected at a school board meeting later this month.
One of the district’s elementary school principals has already been asked by several parents to implement a mandatory dress code. Many other elementary school districts have mandatory dress codes, which have resulted in fewer problems with gangs and peer pressure, district officials said.
Board members said they would favor allowing principals to mandate dress codes at their schools as long as parents overwhelmingly approve of such action.
