WASHINGTON — House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) took a swipe Thursday at the flat-tax proposal touted by GOP presidential hopeful Steve Forbes.
The multimillionaire publisher backs a 17% flat tax that would eliminate deductions for mortgage interest and charitable giving.
