HUNTINGTON BEACH — Two men walked into a fast-food restaurant Friday, pointed a handgun at an employee and got away with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
A Huntington Beach police spokesman said one bandit entered the Umaichi Japanese Restaurant in the 19000 block of Magnolia Street at 8:48 p.m. and paid for a soft drink. When the employee opened the cash register, an accomplice suddenly appeared and pointed a handgun at the victim.
Police said the second man, who was wearing a blue bandanna as a mask, ordered the employee to empty the register. The first bandit then took the receipts and both ran out. Police said witnesses saw the two men escape in an older model white Chevrolet Chevette, going southbound on Magnolia with its lights off.
