A retired Pasadena police officer was sentenced to 30 days in jail Tuesday for preventing another police officer from doing his job.
Robert J. Linker, 53, was arrested Dec. 8 outside a San Fernando Valley party hall and charged with obstructing a police officer and disturbing the peace, officials said.
In addition to the 30-day sentence, Judge Alice Altoon ordered Linker to pay $910 in fines, serve five days on a Caltrans work crew and serve three years of probation.
Linker, who served on the Pasadena police force for 25 years, “yelled and screamed” at officers as they tried to break up a birthday party for the teenage daughter of one of Linker’s friends, said Deputy City Atty. Charles Aguando.
