SEASON AT A GLANCE: This season, Higgins has bests of 12.34 seconds in the 100 meters, a region-leading 24.81 in the 200, 58.06 in the 400 and 17 feet 9 inches in the long jump. In the Ventura County championships at Camarillo High on Friday, she won the 100, 200 and 400 for the second consecutive year.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Higgins clocked a wind-aided 12.18 in the 100 and personal bests of 24.81 in the 200 and 58.06 in the 400 in the county championships. She also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 17-0 1/4. “I think she’ll run 56 in the 400 when she drops the 100 and the long jump,” Channel Islands Coach Dennis Riedmiller said.
