Piece on Affirmative Action Wasn’t Rational
- Share via
In “Stop Using Affirmative Action as Whipping Boy for Society’s Woes” (Times Board of Advisors, May 19), professor Judy Rosener says: “ . . . even if all affirmative action programs were eliminated today . . . the federal budget would still be unbalanced, gang wars would continue to occur, children would still be having children, corporate layoffs would persist, decaying roads and bridges would remain in need of repair and environmental pollution would still be with us.”
And professor Rosener’s column will not cause tidal waves, ingrown toenails, plumbing problems or global warning.
It did, however, deal a severe blow to rational discussion.
