Selling Photos an Unwise Move

* Regarding the sale of Outerbridge photos by the Laguna Art Museum (“Outerbridge Sale Ignores Big Picture,” April 30):
The Laguna Art Museum? You mean the one that is known for its Outerbridge material? They did what? They sold his photographs?
What a stupid move.
How could they sell art pieces that made them familiar within the art community? I agree with writer Cathy Curtis when she says that, “This action makes no sense on any level except as an example of shortsighted greed.”
The horrific thought of his beautiful photographs separated and sold to private parties for large amounts of money, never to be seen by the public again, makes me cringe.
The art world has experienced a tragic loss by Christie’s sales.
