North Huntington Beach Wins Regional Title

Jennifer Benson and Kimberly Engesser each scored to lead the North Huntington Beach Football Club to a 2-0 victory over the Lakewood (Colo.) Fury to capture the under-19 girls’ division title, its second consecutive Snickers Cup Far West Regional Championship Saturday in Redmond, Wash.
North Huntington Beach outscored opponents, 29-4, as it finished the six-day event 6-0.
It now advances to the Snickers National Championships, July 24-28 in Indianapolis.
In the girls’ 16-and-under division, the West Orange County United Riptide lost to the San Jose Central Valley Mercury, 6-0.
The Riptide was 5-0 entering the game and had outscored opponents, 25-4.
At the boys’ 12-and-under competition in Casper, Wyo., the Mission Viejo Cobras lost to the Tempe (Ariz.) Puma Pros, 2-1, in a game decided on penalty kicks.
