Proposed Charter Awaits Public Input

After three months of study and four revisions of a proposed city charter, officials are ready to hear public comment on the document, which has been scheduled for a citywide special vote Feb. 25.
City officials said the charter would provide more local control over how the city is governed. Most cities are General Law cities, covered by a combination of state laws and local ordinances.
The first public hearing on the document will be during the City Council meeting Oct. 22. Residents can view a copy of the proposed charter at City Hall, 8200 Westminster Blvd.
