Criminal Is Caught After Halloween Trick

INVERNESS, Miss. — Chris Pope, host of a Halloween party that drew about 500 people in costume, said guest Clint Edward Reed freely talked about being a convict and showed off his electronic ankle bracelet, but no one took him seriously. Pope said Friday that Reed was such a good guest he’d be welcome back to his mansion.
But Reed’s weekend masquerade ended when officers from a monitoring unit arrived and hauled him off in handcuffs. Reed was jailed until a parole revocation hearing.
A Corrections Department spokesman said Reed, 36, was wearing the bracelet because of a June conviction for passing a bad check.
